By resolution of the Council of Ministries dated 20.09.2012 and numbered 2012/3763, which was published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Turkey dated 07.10.2012 and numbered 28434, the School of Engineering and Architecture was formed under Sinop University.
It was decided to establish the departments indicated below during the Council of Higher Education’s Executive Board meeting on May 22, 2013.

It was decided to open the Department of Electrical – Electronics Engineering at the meeting of the Higher Education Executive Board dated 19.03.2025.
Beginning with the 2015–2016 academic year, the departments of Energy Systems Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, and Nuclear Engineering have been offering courses. Beginning with the 2024-2025 acaddemic year the department of Computer Engineering and mechanical Engineering have been offering courses.

The School of Engineering and Architecture is located in Osmaniye Mahallesi Üniversite Caddesi No:52F Sinop.
Our faculty building has 6 academic staff rooms and administrative areas. Additionally, Sinop University’s Central Library building houses 18 rooms reserved for academic personnel. Our school-only classrooms, located in Block A of the Faculty of Science building, are where we carry out our instructional activities. Additionally, at the Scientific and Technological Research Application and Research Center, the school supervises one nuclear energy laboratory and one energy systems laboratory.
As of the year 2025, our faculty comprises 35 faculty members and 13 research assistants. In accordance with Law No. 2547’s Article 35, seven of our research assistants are now enrolled in different institutions to work toward master’s and doctorate degrees. In addition, 5 administrative staff, 1 janitor, and 2 permanent workers are employed in the School of Engineering and Architecture.
